Founder / Worth a Shot Club
Valentin
Schmid.
Usually down a rabbit hole.
Here to bring something back.
I started Worth a Shot Club to look beyond the promises around AI and share what happens when we put it to work.
My pieces at the Club
The backstory

The computer changed.
The curiosity stuck.
I used to be COO at gowago.ch. Now I’m building my own things with AI, including this Club.
I like understanding how things work and seeing what I can make with them. That’s how one question becomes an afternoon of open tabs.
The Club gives those detours somewhere to go: a piece you can read, a result you can inspect or something you can use in your own work.
Why we give a shotAway from the tabs
There’s a world
outside the window.
01 / Out thereMountain biking and overlanding. A different kind of route finding.
02 / At the tableCooking. Something you can share without sending a link.
03 / Back hereA question worth coming back to. Preferably with someone who sees it differently.

The work
I brought back.
My AI has a middle manager.

Four subscriptions. One team. The setup, the catches and my call.
Open the piece NewsGoogle’s AI pulled an all-nighter.

Gemini 4 Argon: the claim, the catch and the desk-racing detour.
Open the piece Short list / StackSix tools. One thing to ship.
The stack behind the WASC build. Six jobs and the tools doing them.
Open the pieceRoom for another perspective
This Club deserves
more than one brain.
I’m looking for someone to help shape what it becomes. Shared jokes are a bonus.
