Give the claim a job.
A demo can be impressive. The useful question is what happens when the tool meets your brief, your files and the part nobody thought to put in the launch video. That’s where our attempts start.
There’s a lot to be excited about.
We’d like to see what it does.
AI keeps opening new possibilities. Worth a Shot Club is our way of following them far enough to find something useful, then showing the work so you can make up your own mind.
Here’s what that asks of usThe bigger question
We’d like a say in that.
It’s easy to get carried along by the next launch and let the people making the tools set the direction. We want to make room to ask what that direction means for the rest of us.
Staying informed helps us decide what we want to use, what we want to question and what we want to build ourselves. Trying things gives those conversations something real to work with.
That’s part of why this is a Club. More perspectives, more people helping each other take their shots and a future we take a hand in shaping.

The input, the setup and the result belong with the verdict. You should be able to see why we reached a conclusion and decide whether it applies to your work. Agreeing with us is optional.
Sometimes a tool makes the job easier. Sometimes fixing its output becomes the job. We want to be able to say either, including when we liked the promise.
AI helps us make things we couldn’t have made on our own. Someone still chooses the question, checks the work and decides what deserves to go out. Around here, we own those decisions.
When an attempt produces a useful prompt, skill or setup, it belongs on the shelf with the context for using it. The next person shouldn’t have to guess what happened between the screenshots.
A commercial relationship shouldn’t choose our conclusion. We’ll make affiliate links and sponsorships clear where they appear. A tool that pays can still get “skip it”.
Our minds can change as the tools do. A dated verdict describes the attempt we made with the version we used. If we return to it, we should show what changed.
Worth a Shot Club
Still curious. Still accountable.
A verdict should let you inspect the attempt behind the opinion.
